North of the city centre and close to Roxburgh Park, Melbourne Airport (MEL) boasts plenty if the way of affordable ground transportation choices, with buses, speedy shuttles and taxi cabs all being readily available, together with limousines for those who fancy a taste of the high-life.

Serving Melbourne, surrounding suburbs and other areas of Victoria, transport options at the airport allow you to travel to destinations such as Bundoora, Caroline Springs, Greensborough, Meadow Heights, St. Albans, St. Kilda, Sunbury, Sunshine North and Thomastown.

Melbourne Airport is served by regular public buses operated by Skybus, travelling from the terminal buildings to other nearby towns and cities. Express buses run 24 hours a day at 10-minute intervals during the day, and every 30 to 60 minutes during the night. Tickets (singles and returns) can be purchased from the actual bus stop or in advance, from the Skybus website. Upon arrival at the city's South Cross Station, hotel transfers may be available. There is a useful information desk located in the main terminal building, detailing timetables and routes.

Shuttle Bus Services

Shuttle buses and travel directly to many of the city's hotels and also the Central Business District (CBD). The shuttle buses run 24 hours a day at 15 minute intervals during the day, and every 30 to 60 minutes during the night.

Taxi Cabs

Taxis are easy to locate at Melbourne Airport, being found directly outside of the front of:

Terminal 1 (Jetstar and Qantas)
Terminal 2 (International)
Terminal 3 (Regional Express and Virgin Australia)

Catching a cab is as simple as walking up to the rank. However, taxis can also be booked in advance for a small parking charge and collected at the Premium Parking area, opposite the International Terminal. Surcharges are applied for passengers departing from MEL Airport, with prepaid fares being offered for fixed routes between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00. The journey from Melbourne Airport into the city will take around 30 minutes.

Limousines

Limousine services can be leased at an hourly rate if required, although minimum charges usually apply. Airport limos can be booked ahead or arranged at the Ground Transportation Information counters.
